Caroline Potter

Caroline Potter, an experienced, highly qualified Human Capital consultant, is the driving force of Human. She has consulted to clients on large-scale initiatives that focus on restructuring, business transformation and operational improvement, across a variety of industries.

Her areas of expertise include: change management, training and development, employee relations, coaching and organisational development.

Change Management

Caroline holds a post-graduate diploma in management from Wits Business School. She is accredited as a change management practitioner on Prosci methodologies and tools via Picourseware, and is a member of the Associate of Change Management Professionals.

Her wealth of experience includes:

  • Change manager on a programme that focused on the development of a shared services business unit for an international mining company, focusing mainly on its finance, supply chain management and maintenance functions.
  • Change lead on Lean Six Sigma programme at a large bank in South Africa.
  • Change programme manager in the United Kingdom on £2 billion transformation programme which required the restructuring and closing of 150 mail centres across the country.
  • Change management lead on large-scale restructure at South African mining company.
  • Change programme lead on global SAP implementation for mining company. Led a team of 13 consultants across Australia, Singapore and South Africa.
  • Change management lead on SAP implementation at a South African investment bank. Aligned change management approach and methodology adopted in personal and business banking, and adapted it to an investment banking environment.
  • Change management lead at South Africa asset management company. Led the change management human resources, employee relations and communications work streams for the following initiatives:
    • Outsourcing programme for institutional operations: 110 staff members transferred
    • LibFin relocation to Melrose Arch and S197 transfer of 35 employees to STANLIB
    • Restructuring of research team from centralised to decentralised operating model
    • In all initiatives managed project plan, developed change management strategy and change plan, engaged stakeholders across all levels of seniority, conducted consultations and provided coaching to middle and senior management

  • Change management and HR lead on transformation programme at a petrochemicals company.

Training and Organisational Development

Caroline holds a diploma in education, training and development, and is qualified through the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) Professional Business Coaching Programme. She is also a member of Coaches and Mentors of South Africa (COMENSA).

Some of her key accomplishments in this field include:

  • Training facilitator and materials developer for technical and soft skills in a retail bank.
  • Required to develop training according to instructional design principles and facilitate courses from clerical level through to senior and executive management.
  • Training and organisational development specialist manager in charge of leadership and organisational development for a large South African airline. Provided a service to internal clients both locally and internationally and trained cabin crew through to senior and executive management.
